With the introduction of the new KDS 140 Tandem, Fliegl expands its proven KDS lineup with a highly versatile model in the mid-range performance segment. This compact chain-driven manure spreader combines the advantages of a low-profile chassis with a modern tandem axle system – delivering improved stability, reduced soil compaction, and dependable performance in the field.

Enhanced Stability with Tandem Axle Technology

Previously available only as a single-axle unit, the KDS 140 now comes in a tandem configuration that offers clear advantages in real-world operation. The standard tandem chassis with parabolic suspension ensures smooth handling – even in challenging field conditions.

With a permissible gross weight of 14,000 kg and optimized axle load distribution, the KDS 140 Tandem is ideal for farms that prioritize stability and control. Uneven terrain and obstacles are absorbed more effectively thanks to the oscillating axle design, minimizing bounce and improving overall ride quality.

 

Compact design with high efficiency

With a load capacity of approximately 12 m³, the KDS 140 Tandem remains intentionally compact and highly maneuverable. Its low-profile design lowers the center of gravity, ensuring safe operation both in the field and on the road.

The tapered body design promotes a consistent material flow, supported by a rugged floor conveyor system featuring dual flat-link chains and a manual tensioning system.

 

Powerful Spreading Technology Comes Standard
The KDS 140 Tandem comes equipped with the high-performance Junior XL spreading unit as standard. Featuring two vertical beaters, it delivers reliable shredding and even distribution with spreading widths of up to 14 meters.

For more demanding applications, the optional muck control wide-spread unit is available. It offers spreading widths of up to 24 meters and stands out for its precise lateral distribution – ideal for modern, efficiency-focused fertilization strategies.

 

Operator-Friendly Features for Everyday Use

Designed with practical farm use in mind, the KDS 140 Tandem includes a range of standard features, such as:

  • Mechanically controlled floor conveyor drive
  • Front slurry gate with internal guide system
  • LED lighting package
  • Air brake system with automatic load sensing
  • Heavy-duty, swiveling drawbar for flexible hitching options

Optional electric controls and advanced operating systems are available to further enhance ease of use.

 

A Perfect Fit Within the KDS Lineup

Combining a compact footprint with tandem axle performance, the KDS 140 Tandem is positioned squarely between smaller single-axle units and high-capacity spreaders in the range.

It fills a key gap in the existing lineup – from models like the KDS 80, 120, 140, and 165 single-axle units to larger tandem machines such as the KDS 265 and muck control high-capacity spreaders – offering a flexible solution for a wide variety of farming operations.
