Up until now all operations of Fliegl Agrartechnik had been gathered in Töging am Inn, Germany. For over 15 years construction, manufacturing, research and development as well as sales operations were centralized in this headquarter. The factory premises in Töging covered an area of 90.000m². With its state-of-the-art assembly lines Fliegl was able to manufacture more than 2.300 trailers for different applications.
Now the factory in Töging is being replaced by the new facility in Mühldorf am Inn. The new headquarter covers an area of 30 hectare. The whole company is going to move to its new premises before spring 2013. The shift of the company from Töging to Mühldorf is the largest investment in the history of Fliegl Agrartechnik. The nearly 300 employees, among them 60 apprentices, will be working in an ultra-modern factory with innovative warehousing and production processes.
State-of-the-art laser equipment is used for cutting tubes and profiles. The tube laser can accurately cut even complicated patterns and special sizes. That allows the production of custom made parts as well as mass production of components. Until now these parts had to be sawn in a work extensive process. The new laser with its 2000 Watt capacity improves these processes enormously. The processed tubes and profiles can be up to 6 m long and up to 2.000 kg heavy. The machine cuts the material fast and precise for a further handling in the manufacturing process. The sheet laser is just as precise and reliable as the tube laser. This is used for metal sheets of up to 20 mm in thickness and can perform precise cuts of 2.000 x 4.000 mm sheets. Its automated loading and unloading system converts batches of up to 5.000 kg into component parts. These are subsequently welded into trailer- and machinery parts. With these new machines Fliegl is able to optimize its manufacturing processes in the new Mühldorf facility in order to maximize its capacity and quality.
A centralized high rack warehouse improves the storage logistics of Fliegl Agrartechnik. It is 92 m long, 37m wide and 27m high. The system works independently, fully automatic and gives a better overview over access and availability of the components for the manufacturing process.
The warehouse management system runs through three rows of racks. It is responsible for the whole storing process. Two of these robots are used to handle euro palettes and iron-barred boxes.
The third handles the heavy duty palettes with material and components, e.g. axles of up to 4 tons. In addition, 800m² of stock are also reserved for small parts. The tire storage has a capacity of 6.000 tires in all sizes. With its capacity the Fliegl high rack storage is one of the largest in the area.
